2024 Annual Meeting Recap

Thank you to all who attended, in person or online, our annual meeting held on Monday, November 18, 2024, in person at the Gail Borden Main Library and online via Zoom. Being a co-op member includes democratic participation and we appreciate shareholders who took the time to engage and help shape the future of our grocery co-op.

A recap of the meeting’s slides can be found here. If you have any questions or would like more info on how to join our co-op, please contact us.

Some key takeaways:

• Shared Harvest now represents 1070 households with 1558 total shares sold.

• This year our committed volunteers donated hundreds of hours toward our project.

• Over the summer we updated our pro forma and market study and created the Shared Harvest Advisory Council.

• We recently added online donations to our website and have signed with a non-profit fiscal sponsor, which will enable access to more grants and tax-deductible donations very soon.

• We were extremely proud to share the news of Shared Harvest’s successful award of a grant through the Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) 2024 Planning Grant Program, a program of America’s HFFI, a public-private partnership administered by Reinvestment Fund on behalf of USDA Rural Development.

• Our top goals and priorities for the coming year are: locking in a downtown site, expanding shareholder and community relationships, and setting the stage for funding store development.

• Shareholders present and voting passed bylaws changes as proposed by the board, setting the stage for Shared Harvest to offer Preferred Shares as an additional option for raising capital.

• Board members Martin Nobs and Frankie Garcia were elected to continue their service, and we said thank you to Brigitte Nobs and Jennifer Shroder at the end of their three consecutive three-year terms on the board.

• Shareholders and community members who are interested in joining the a committee, or have specific questions, are invited to reach out to arrange a meeting.

Annual meeting attendees were entered to win fun products from Frontier Co-op, an American wholesaler of natural and organic products, and Blue Q, a designer and manufacturer of artist-designed aprons, towels, totes and more. Congratulations to the lucky winners and thank you for all who helped organized our 2024 annual meeting!
